Setea dressed

Setea dressed

Inspired by the traditional Basotho attire, this is more than a doll — it’s a handmade tribute to the strength and beauty of our traditions.

The doll’s dress depicts the animal skin dress named ‘Setea’ worn by the Basotho women. The animal skin would be meticulously cut to create the upper body covering piece as well as a two piece that covers the front covering as well as the back covering of the lower parts of the body. Today we see our women rocking this outfit on special occasions.

  • Materials and Care Instructions

    • Acrylic yarn for all the crochet body and clothing.

    • Cotton cloth (African print) for the head wrap.
